Program Details

Underdogs Hybrid Weightlifting focuses on classical Weightlifting development at it's core, but with optional metcons and conditioning for the fitness enthusiast that wants to continue to 'scratch the itch' while focusing on improving their strength with a barbell. The 5-day split will include 4 weightlifting sessions plus a Saturday hypertrophy session and a daily metcon for those who wish to include it!



What To Expect:

-Block style progressions that build month to month towards 1RM Testing for the major Weightlifting movements (Snatch, Clean & Jerk, and Squat). This will not be random workouts that change every week. You'll have consistent progressions that build in intensity and/or volume over time


-Technical drills and accessory work to support your lifts. Performing the Snatch or CJ on their own isn't enough to make measurable progress in technique and strength!


-Additional daily CrossFit style metcons for those of you who wish to remain involved in the sport of fitness while you focus on Weightlifting


FAQ:


Will this help me prepare for an Olympic Weightlifting meet?

Of course! We will regularly be working through cycles more focused on technique, strength, and peaking.


What if I can't do all 5 days?

No problem, We have athletes who complete as little as 2-3 days/week. In general you'll find that Monday, Wednesday, and Friday sessions are the most specific and important for your weightlifting success with Tuesday and Saturday being more complimentary.


Do I have to do the Metcons?

Nope! We include the metcons knowing much of our community comes from a CrossFit background and still wants to scratch the intch even if they've moved over to the dark side of Weightlifting. You can do all, none, or some of the metcons each week! We specifically plan them with a weightlifter in mind, so there will be less emphasis on moderate-heavy barbells + high skill gymnastics, and more focus on intensity and fitness.
